on my mind…

So the main thing that has been on my mind for the past couple of months is the Internet and my web design. I constantly think about how I can improve certain webpages and desire for the opportunity to create new ones. Even as I’m trying to find jobs in the entertainment industry, web design keeps coming to the forefront of my mind. Ugh, sometimes I wish I had a different life.

I want to continue my web design education. I want to also learn more of how to mix soundtracks for movies. (and now hypothetically speaking…) In my free time, I would be going out to different areas to take photographs for my own pleasure; taking vacations for a few days or weeks at a time to visit remote places for a refresh in my interests. I would have the opportunity to use my nice, expensive digital SLR to capture still life and landscapes. I could indulge myself in different cultures around the world to see how others live and experience life through a foreign lifestyle. I would still give myself to local missions every year helping people improve their day to day life. I would use a lot of my fortune to fund research on the ears and hearing, and finding a cure for tinnitus. If I could go back to school and continue to learn more about web design, audio sweetening for movies and photography, I think I’d be in heaven. When I had the opportunity, I’d probably take an acting class to learn the basics of professional acting techniques and submit my headshot and portfolio to casting calls and agencies for employment. Family and friends would be thrilled to see me roaming on their televisions or on the big screen at the local cinema. And then, I would be wealthy enough to start helping others who were in my situation to do what they want, to live their passions.

I think it’s time to start making some new goals. I’m gonna continue what I’m doing but I also need to think of other ways to do accomplish the above. It’s certainly not impossible, but it’s gonna take a lot more work. And the sad thing is that I love to do nothing–my laziness. Who wants to fight this for me?!

my first real web design

I have completed my first real web design. I have done other designs in the past, but had no basis for any of them. This one, however, it 100% completed. It reflects about 3 continual months of work spanned over a year. Moving, working, and more moving really doesn’t help with completing my projects so this one took way longer than I wanted but I’m finally done and I’m very proud!

update

FINALLY A DAY TO MYSELF!!

I made a few changes, added a few pages, added a few links. I will continue to add more pages and links hopefully tomorrow.

Please take a look at this page. I need feedback on if you like this kind of slideshow or not. I really enjoy it and want to use it with all my photos, but if I get an overwhelming response from other people, I won’t use it. It needs some CSS changes but I haven’t had time to mess with that yet. Soon though.

To scroll through the gallery photos, just click on the photos themselves. They each lead to the next photo.

This slideshow is from my Boston/NYC trip that I took with my childhood friend Justin back in November of 2003. It was a great trip and we got to see a LOT of great places that I hadn’t seen before. I hope you enjoy it and I would love to get some feedback.

Welcome to the new Asuh.com

I’ve been doing absolutely nothing else for the past few days, since about Friday, except for coding and getting this new site ready for the big switch over. And it’s finally here!!

There are many changes from my end but not too many visible changes on your end. It should look relatively the same, but hopefully a LOT more clean. I have added a few things and will continue to add a lot more stuff in the future. The photo gallery is down for now until I can figure out a way to get a new one up.

It’s been a lot of fun and there’s so much more to come! I hope to have many more new photos, entries, side comments, etc. etc. as I continue to *blog*. If you see something one day and it looks different the next, it’s because I’m changing so that it looks better. Hope this is to your liking!

Just a few comments about everything.. My comment system is down with this new look, meaning you can’t directly access it like you have been able to before. You’ll have to go to the community forum and leave comments in the new “blog comments” section until I can once again hook them back up to the comments page. Please be sure to register because it’s a great way for me to keep track of you and know who visits my site!

There are a few reasons why I might not have your website link on my page. One, because I don’t know and two because it’s not a regular site I visit. I won’t link to everything I see but to those sites which interest me. However, if you want please feel free to link to my website!

If you see some errors on any of the pages or know a better way of coding something, please let me know asap so I can correct it. I’m sure through everything I’ve done there’s gotta be a few errors.

Let me know what you think and I promise I’ll try to get some LA pics up ASAP!! See ya soon.

trial and error

I am trying to test and see if this is outputted correctly on my index.php page. I don’t know what to expect because I just overhauled the comments and integrated them with my bulletin board for better management and easibility with trying to integrate my site more efficiency.

I wonder what’ll happen if I type a whole bunch of paragraphs and see what happens here. I’m probably just a few more days/weeks from getting this preliminary site up and running and taking down the other site. It’ll be exciting to see everything said and done once I’m finished because this new version will be much better than my current version.

We’ll see what happens when it happens. I need to first get all the bugs out of the bulletin boards and change the visual styles as well before anything else.

Okay, I’m going to push return and see if this is long enough to fill up the whole page or most of the page just to see what happens. Oh yeah, and I need to make sure that the cellspacing is even.

design fiend

No news is good news, right? It was a slow week. Mostly web designing, getting to see a few friends before they left for college, and relaxing since I am able.

I am currently working on three web pages for three different people, myself included. I don’t want to release the addresses to these sites yet but if you think you have a really good eye for design and want to see what I’m doing, please e-mail me and I’ll give you something to see.

I went to see Big Fish this weekend. What a wonderful movie. It was not too sappy, not too chick flickish, just a nice mix for a warm story. Yeah, it got pretty soft at the end, but I overall enjoyed it. It’s a definite go see movie and buy when it comes out on DVD (that is if you are into collecting movies… too expensive for me right now). My main reason for liking the movie so much (probably different from most people) was the music. It was original compositions from Danny Elfman, who most famously wrote the theme for Batman, Edward Scissorhands, as well as The Simpsons! I love seeing good movies, but when the music is just as good it makes up for other lacks.

I hope to roll-out the new website in a week or so if I can finish everything that soon. It’ll be a work in progress for a little while but I think it’ll be a nice change from what I have now. I’m keeping some familiarities but adding a lot more features!

change is good

I have decided to change some of my layout. It was very plain and boring before, but I think this new simplicity will only help the appeal of my site. I need to figure out what to do with my links that I’ve left off, but that’ll come in time.

I am really into the cover art because it totally represents what’s going on with me right now. Windmills. They are a sign of stability no matter the weather that tries to affect it. Even through the winds of change, they continue to serve their purpose and turn to provide for others. In a similar since, I am trying to figure out where my place is. I don’t know where I will end up in a few days, a few weeks or a few months but I am going to continue being there for the rest of the world. There will be lots of new changes in the coming months that I will be weathering through, but I strive to be the windmill and serve my purpose no matter what!

I have lots that I will do with this new layout but it’ll take me some time because I gotta work a real job for a while to earn some money that I lack and need.

Who’s the next music group you should check out? The Polyphonic Spree

Why? Because you’ve heard them over and over on the iPod commercial and you know you’ve wanted to know who they are…

back in the rush

Yeah, that barely describes what I’m facing in terms of getting this CD made. School on top of that doesn’t help! But it was a slow night here at home so I watched a goofy movie called “Get Over It”. The reason I wanted to watch it was because of Kirsten Dunst. She rocks! The movie was alright over all. If you want a great move that she acts in, check out “Crazy/Beautiful” or “Virgin Suicides”. There are others but go to her website or here to get more info.

So I have been back in Denver for almost a week. It’s back to normal. Finished a project in one lab on Monday and already have 2 labs for next week. I hate going to most of these labs because I’d rather be at home just chillin’ but obviously I can’t do that all the time. I gotta educate myself this last month and a half.

Speaking of which, yeah, 6 weeks until graduation. I’m definitely not walking which is fine by me. I’m ready to just put school behind me. Six years of college is definitely enough. But, in a twist of humor, there are a few more classes that I’ve love to take including photography and graphic design. Maybe learn a little acting. I’m definitely an arts person.

Oh, I guess some bigger news in right before I left for LA I uploaded the church’s new web design! Check it out here. I like it and hope that it serves well. When I get more free time, I should do a little maintenance work to my website. Like add stuff. All this website does is display this web journal. What should I add??

new bg pic

Like the new background picture? It’s one that I took this weekend. It’s been touched up with Photoshop but just colorwise. I’m gonna try and find a random picture display so I can rotate between some of my pictures up in the title.

I also fixed the vote button so that ALL people can vote, not just registered people. Maybe I’ll get more responses? I think voting is cool. GO VOTE. Where is it you ask? Look to your right, now scroll down below all of those links and you’ll see the voting. Have fun.

soon

I need to design some of this website better. I have a better idea of what I’m going to do but need to work out the coding kinks. I want to have some pictures up and I need to recreate a bulletin board. I also am doing this with the church website. Submit ideas if you have any.
