Trip photos

I have finally edited and uploaded the pictures for people to see! I couldn’t upload every picture because we took over 800 of them, however I personally selected a lot of them for your viewing pleasure. I don’t expect to get an overwhelming response but if you wanna see more pictures, let me know and I’ll put a few more online. If you want a raw picture at the biggest size, I can probably send you one of those as well.

Roadtrip 2003

last week of trip

We’re in San Francisco, had a lot of fun, took some great pictures, and now we’re on to the rest of our trip. Redwood National Park, Yellowstone National Park, and lots of driving.

This is it because I have a minute left to use this computer.

bay area

We shall be making our journey up Highway 5 to the Bay Area for a few nights. LA has been fun but it’s time to go! I’m sure I’ll be back soon.

Hopefully we’ll have Internet somewhere up in San Francisco so we can upload some pictures. Although there’s Internet right here, we can’t get on with the laptop because it’s through a university connection.

California

We spent a day at the San Diego Zoo yesterday before we drove up to LA. It certainly took about a full 6-7 hours of seeing animals. We probably could have spent more but our feet and bodies were tired! Three thumbs up for this zoo!

After we drove up to LA, we first stopped in Hollywood (again for me). What happens again? I ran into the ESPY award rehearsal. We stood outside for a few hours watching celebs go back into their limos and cars. Not as big as the Oscars however. This event was an ABC/ESPN event so most of the stars were ABC celebs. The biggest people we saw were Andy Dick, Bonnie Hunt, David Allen Grier, Teri Polo (Meet the Parents), and Ernie Hudson (Winston from Ghostbusters). There were lots of other people, half of whom I didn’t know, but I have pictures of most of them. If we had waited long enough or gone back tonight, we could have seen big names like Jim Belushi and other sports stars. I also heard that Mark Paul Gossalar (Zack Morris from Saved by the Bell) was there but didn’t see him!

I have a little picture gallery I made up to post online but can’t get Internet access from Jonathan’s laptop. So if I can at some point, I’ll be sure to upload some pics.

SHOULD WE GO TO SEATTLE or . . .

should we stay in San Francisco a little longer than we have planned? We’re debating on what to do next week because of time issues. If we stay in San Francisco a little longer, we’ll have to skip Seattle and other places like Mt. St. Helens, Mt. Ranier, Crater Lake National Park, etc. But that’ll give us more time to visit San Francisco and see what it’s like. If we end up going to Seattle and NW USA, it’ll be like a stop a go. Just a few hours in one place really. I’m debating on what we should do. I’d really like to see Seattle because I’ve never been there, but it’s the same case with San Francisco. What to do, what to do…

e-mail, call, comments, whatever you wanna do to let us know your opinion!

middle of here and there

Vegas today, San Diego tomorrow. Our trip has been come and go, here and there, going to wherever we can to see whatever we can. It’s been a nice see everything trip and I am happy we have been able to do what we can.

We just got back from the “Matrix: Reloaded” at the IMAX theater in the Luxor. The screen is 7 feet tall and the sound blows you away. It was probably better that I saw the movie in there than in a regular, sub par audio movie theater.

We’ve been to many different hotels, picked up a few cups, taken lots of pictures, and been scorched by the sun way too many times. We had nice buffets last night and tonight and I got stuffed last night! (ask later for details, not pretty…)

The Grand Canyon was awesome. We were sitting outside for about an hour to see the sunset and it was amazing. I have about 20 pictures that I snapped of the sunset alone, maybe more. When I’m able to make the time and have Internet, we’ll upload some of them onto the website for everyone to see.

So meanwhile we’re on this trip, a few of my friends a moving away to other states. :( I hope I can catch y’all sooner than next summer because I love visiting friends in other states and areas that I’m not familiar with. If one of you are reading this, have a safe trip and be in touch soon! If you know someone who is moving away and might not have read this, remind them to read!

I have 24 hours of Internet access from this computer so I better get off before they charge me even more for access. Tomorrow, we see the roadside Dinosaurs (Pee Wee’s Big Adventure) and the Windmill Farm (Mac and Me) both located very close to Palm Springs. Then so the San Diego Zoo in two days!! Lots to do so catch next time!

Vegas baby

We’re in Vegas. Have fun staring at our picture of the welcome sign here. We’ll try to post more before we leave.

i’m all spacey

My first night of camping in over 6 years was a wee tiring. It took me a while to fall asleep, the morning greeted us with some bird of some kind that wouldn’t keep quiet, and dogs were barking non-stop. We stayed at Davis Mnts. National Park and it was loaded with visitors who brought crying babies and dogs and kids and all the fixins for a nice, long night of trying to sleep. That’s what I get for staying up until 2am the night before.

We visited the McDonald Observatory late last night for the star party. Through one of the smaller telescopes we viewed some stars, a star which had already exploded, and the moon. I wanted to see Jupiter but the clouds were out in full force for the first half of the night. The night ended after a staff guy educated us with the constellations and star patterns. We were able to see the big telescopes this morning and we got some good pictures.

Tomorrow is the Carlsbad Caverns and another big drive up to Santa Fe. We won’t have communication from tomorrow until we arrive in Las Vegas in a few days. So this’ll be it for now.

“Something,” typed Jonathan passionately.

to the stars and back

Tomorrow night represents our first stop to McDonald Observatory. We will get to view through one of the smaller telescopes to see some of the planets. We’ll get to have a tour of the observatory and what it encompasses.

The next day will be travel to Carlsbad, New Mexico to see the Carlsbad Caverns. Then eventually up to Mesa Verde and over to the Grand Canyon. So, we might have Internet at some point in Carlsbad but not until at least Vegas if not afterward.

We will hopefully be taking millions of pictures of everything! Our plan is send out e-postcards to people. If you go here and leave your e-mail, we’ll send you one. Be sure to tell your friends and family to visit and leave us something. We’re gonna have plenty to go around. And don’t forget to donate for our road trip fund if you want!

DONATE YOUR SUPPORT

We will be leaving in a few days and this site shall be central to our updates and ventures! Check back often for pictures, news, etc. We won’t have Internet access every day but when we can get access, we’ll be sure to post something!
